20+ free calculators and spreadsheets

Three doors. Pick the one that matches your question

The quilt fabric calculator is the quilter door; the other two doors are a rate and a stock count.

Each door is a starting question — fabric, rate, or stock. The free shelf below has more for fabric math, rates, and selling. Start with a door, then browse all free tools — no account, no card.

Pick a starter for your niche, then open any other free calculator or spreadsheet in that line. Calculators need nothing; sheets cost an email for the file. No account.

The full free shelf

21 free tools across quilting, freelance, and handmade. Browser calculators need nothing; spreadsheets cost an email for the file.

Pick any link — they're all free. Or browse them grouped: all calculators and all free spreadsheets.

Before you ask

  • Is it really free? Yes. The calculators ask for nothing at all. The spreadsheets ask for an email, because that's how the file reaches you.
  • Does it work in Excel? Yes, and in Google Sheets. The spreadsheets only use formulas both of them understand.
  • Do I need an account? No. There isn't one to make.

The paid spreadsheet, when free stops being enough

  • The $29 Seller Back-Office Kit puts costing, stock, a simple ledger and invoices on one product list. The spreadsheet is built; leave your email for one message when checkout opens — nobody is charged until then.
  • Freelancing? The Freelance rate card & boundaries pack ($29 planned) turns the calculator's rate into hourly, day and project prices, holds your revision, rush, payment and kill-fee rules, and prints both on one client page. Notify until checkout — no charge on the list.
  • Quilting for clients? The longarm rate planner and commission quote kit (planned at $35 each), or both in the Quilter who sells pack ($49 planned). Pattern break-even stays a later solo. Notify until checkout — no charge on the list.

Rather build the inventory sheet yourself than download ours? The track-inventory-in-Google-Sheets guide builds the same system from scratch, formula by formula.

What's the catch?

There isn't a trial that turns into a bill. Calculators stay free in your browser. Spreadsheets cost an email so we can send the file. Paid kits are optional and one-time when checkout is live.

  1. Use it free

The calculators answer in your browser, and the template pages show you exactly what's in the file before you ask for it. No account, no card.

  2. Get the file by email

Want a spreadsheet to keep? Leave an email and it arrives in one message. Printable calculator worksheets are planned, with a list to hear when they land.

  3. Pay only if you ever want more

If a free sheet stops being enough, the Seller Back-Office Kit and the quilting pricing aids go further. One payment when checkout opens — no subscription, no fake charge on a waitlist.

Different shop? Your waitlist becomes a buyer list

If you quilt, freelance by the hour, or sell handmade goods, stay with the calculators and spreadsheets above — that is the primary Kitvert line. This section is only for people who sell software or digital products and already run n8n and Notion.

Common questions

Are the tools really free?

Yes. The calculators run in your browser and don't ask for anything. The spreadsheets cost an email address, because that's how we send you the file. Paid extras are optional: the $29 Seller Back-Office Kit for shop desks; longarm and commission sheets (planned at $35 each, or $49 together as the Quilter who sells pack); and the $99 Indie Operator Stack under Kits for software sellers on n8n and Notion. Maker paid pages are notify-only until checkout opens — nobody is charged from a waitlist.

Do the calculators need an account or an email?

No. Type your numbers and the answer is on the page. The free quilt cutting-plan worksheet is a printable companion to the yardage and binding calculators. More printable versions may follow; calculator pages say when a companion sheet is live.

Does the inventory template work in Excel?

Yes. It's an .xlsx file using only formulas that Google Sheets and Excel share, so you can import it into Google Sheets or open it in Excel directly.

What is the Seller Back-Office Kit?

A $29 spreadsheet kit built around the free inventory sheet: product costing, a simple income and expense ledger and an invoice tab, all reading from one product list. The file is built; checkout is not live yet. Join the list on the Back-Office page for one email when you can buy it — nobody is charged in the meantime.

I sew / sell on Etsy / freelance — is the Kits section for me?

Usually no. Kits is for people who sell software or digital products and already run n8n and Notion. Quilters, freelancers and handmade sellers should stay with the calculators and spreadsheets on this page. The one exception is the freelance rate card pack, a plain spreadsheet that happens to live under Kits.
